Job summary

SAFRAN Engineering Services is seeking a Loads Engineer to join the team on an initial 12-month fixed-term contract. The role involves performing load calculations for sizing studies of future aircraft and assessing ground and flight loads, including aeroelastic considerations.

Requirements include a Mechanical, Aerospace, or Structural Engineering degree, proficiency in Flight Physics, Python (mandatory), and experience with MATLAB. Strong planning and teamwork across modules is essential.

Qualifications

• Python coding is mandatory.
• Knowledge of aircraft behavior and aerodynamics.

Responsibilities

• Perform load calculations for sizing studies of future aircraft.
• Compute ground loads (landing, braking, turns, rolls).
• Compute flight loads (longitudinal and lateral maneuvers, gusts).
• Conduct aeroelastic calculations (flutter, limit cycle oscillations).

Job description

In order to develop and expand the capabilities of SAFRAN Engineering Services in the UK, we are looking for a Loads Engineer to join our growing team for initially a 12m fixed term contract.

Load calculations used for sizing study of future aircrafts or for major MODs. For a start, determination of component loads (calculation of the loads on specifics parts) and could be in the future::

• Ground loads (Landings, Brakings, Turns, Rollings, …)

• Flight loads (Longitudinal and Lateral Manoeuvres, Load Alleviation Functions, Gust, Failure cases …)
• Aeroelastics calculation (Flutter calculations, control surfaces limit cycle oscillations)

Requirements

* Mechanical / Aerospace / Structural Engineering degree

* Technical skills:

• Flight Physics, Flight Loads, Ground Loads, Aeroelastics, Aerodynamics

• Know the behavior of an airplane, to have physical sense
• Coding: Python (mandatory)
• Tools: Matlab

* Strong ability to plan and schedule activities across multiple modules

* Pay attention to details

* Effective communication skills, able to clearly define expectations and gain understanding

* Team spirit with a capacity to interact with multicultural teams
