Job summary

Kalitta Air, LLC seeks a Loadmaster to oversee cargo handling and load operations, ensuring safety, accuracy, and regulatory compliance across flights. The role includes preparing load plans, supervising cargo loading, and coordinating with contractors and flight crews.

The Loadmaster will supervise cargo-related tasks, verify documentation, and maintain secure cargo operations while supporting the flight team and maintenance personnel as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass a 10-year background check and a DoD background check.
• Ability to obtain a US passport and travel as needed.
• Ability to maintain a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates cargo-related functions with flights and supervises load planning and weight and balance.
• Prepares and distributes the load plan and Weight and Balance Load Sheet.
• Ensures cargo is inspected, labeled, loaded, and restrained per policy and regulations.
• Directs contract labor for handling, loading, and off-loading aircraft.
• Trains vendors on safe handling of equipment and cargo.
• Verifies accuracy of cargo, dangerous goods, and government documents.
• Inspects and operates cargo doors, restraints, and related equipment; records discrepancies.
• Inspects ULDs for damage and ensures cargo is secured.
• Makes temporary repairs to ULDs as allowed; rejects substandard units.
• Prevents pilferage, loss, or damage of cargo in custody.
• Maintains control over all ULDs and cargo restraint equipment.
• Closes aircraft doors and secures the aircraft prior to departure at outstations.
• Ensures flight plans, weather data, and declarations are available to the crew.
• Coordinates with service providers, airport authorities, and agencies related to flight operations.
• Ensures catering is correctly filled and stocked with supplies.
• Serves as a mechanic's helper when needed and assists crew at outstations.
• Prepares reports and briefs flight crew on cargo and security conditions.
• Performs other duties as directed by management.
