Job summary

Harvard Protection Services seeks a Security - Loading Dock Officer to oversee dock operations at client sites. You will monitor deliveries, control access, greet vendors, and enforce security protocols to maintain a safe, efficient loading area.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid security license or ability to obtain one, and 1–2 years of security experience with a focus on logistics. Excellent communication and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid state security officer license or ability to obtain one.
• 1–2 years security experience, preferably with logistics or dock duties.
• Reliable transportation and strong communication skills.
• Professional appearance and customer service mindset.
• Ability to write routine reports and logs accurately.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional demeanor while assisting vendors, employees, tenants, and visitors.
• Monitor and control access to loading docks and adjacent areas for authorized entry.
• Greet and verify delivery personnel, vendors, and contractors entering the dock area.
• Maintain a visible presence and patrol dock zones to deter theft or unauthorized activity.
• Answer incoming calls and manage dock operation communications.
• Enforce dock policies and inspect outgoing deliveries for authorization.
• Monitor security systems and alarms related to dock areas.
• Prepare incident and activity reports as required.
• Follow emergency protocols and support evacuations when needed.
