Job summary

BHC in Charleston, SC is seeking a Loading Dock Porter to keep the back-of-house operations clean, organized, and moving. This role handles the collection, transportation, and disposal of waste, recycling, and compostable materials across the property while supporting deliveries and storage for the Purchasing and Receiving team.

Qualifications

• Experience in storeroom, warehouse, or receiving operations.
• Basic understanding of inventory systems.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Inventory Management & Stock Control: Receive, inspect, and store incoming goods according to SOPs; verify quantities and quality against packing slips and POs; ensure FIFO labeling and rotation.
• Storeroom Organization & Cleanliness: Maintain clean, organized storerooms, proper shelving, and accessibility; uphold sanitation and safety standards.
• Requisitions & Distribution: Pick, pack, and distribute items based on approved requisitions; deliver to departments in a timely manner.
• Receiving Support: Assist Receiving with unloading deliveries, checking invoices, and staging goods for stocking.
• Compliance, Safety & Standards: Follow safety policies, HACCP guidelines where applicable, and proper storage of chemicals and equipment.
