Job summary

Arcosa Aggregates in Newark, NJ is seeking a Loader Operator to support daily asphalt operations at our Newark Asphalt Plant. You will safely operate loaders, perform routine plant maintenance, and uphold OSHA safety standards to maintain efficient production.

This role emphasizes safety, teamwork and reliable operation in an outdoor, industrial setting, with opportunities to grow through Training and internal advancement within the Arcosa organization.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years experience preferred
• Experience with Loader SIZE 980
• Prompt, regular attendance
• Positive, team-based attitude
• Ability to stand, stoop, bend, lift, walk, climb stairs, ladders and catwalks up to 60 feet as required
• Ability to lift 25–50 lbs. on occasion
• Ability to work in varied outdoor environments (cold, hot, dry, dusty, rainy)
• Ability to operate heavy equipment safely
• Understand and carry out oral & written instructions
• Ability to keep accurate daily record
• Knowledge of plant maintenance and construction materials
• Good mental concentration and judgement
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Job description

Arcosa Aggregates is seeking a Loader Operator based out of our Newark Asphalt Plant to support a positive safety culture in an aggregate environment that is regulated by OSHA safety standards in our East Region. This role is responsible for daily asphalt operations by safely operating heavy equipment—primarily loaders—as well as performing routine and preventative plant maintenance to ensure continuous, efficient production.

Day to Day

• Actively promote safety awareness and continuous improvement through positive recognition
• Operate asphalt equipment
• Perform daily maintenance on the plant
• Comply with all industry safety rules, procedures and applicable government regulations
• Perform daily pre‑shift equipment and workplace inspections to maintain equipment performance
• Maintain strong communications with other plant employees and operators
• Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned

About You

Working Conditions

While most equipment has air conditioning, there will be times when other responsibilities may require periods of work in all weather conditions including heat, cold, wet, dry, and dusty.

Compensation

$22.64 - $30.40
