Job summary

Arcosa Aggregates East Region is seeking a recycling nighttime loader operator for our quarry in Bound Brook, NJ. You will load trucks, manage stockpiles, and support safety practices in a MSHA-regulated environment.

Responsibilities include operating multiple mobile machines, performing inspections, and assisting with maintenance as needed. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and reliable attendance in varied outdoor conditions.

Qualifications

  • Experience operating heavy mobile equipment preferred.
  • Must pass pre-shift inspections.
  • Able to work day/night shifts and in outdoor conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Operate front-end loader to load customer trucks and maintain stockpiles.
  • Haul material from mine pit to stockpile, plant or hopper.
  • Perform pre-shift and workplace inspections for safety compliance.
  • Promote safety and communicate with supervisors and customers.
  • Maintain loaders and assist with maintenance as needed.
  • Follow safety rules and government regulations.

Job description

Arcosa Aggregates East Region is searching for a recycling nighttime loader operator at our Quarry in Bound Brook, NJ. As a recycling nighttime loader operator, you will support a positive safety culture in an aggregate environment that is regulated by MSHA safety standards.

Day to Day
  • Actively promote safety awareness and continuous improvement through positive recognition
  • Comply with all industry safety rules, procedures and applicable government regulations.
  • The ability to operate at least 2 pieces of mobile equipment (haul truck, farm tractor, water truck, rubber tire backhoe, front loader, etc.)
  • Operate equipment in quarry and daily hauling of material from mine pit to stockpile, plant or hopper
  • Performs walk-around pre-shift safety inspections and workplace inspections to include maintenance and cleanliness of loader.
  • Identifies any safety problems or concerns and reports any unsafe conditions to Supervisor including near misses and any other areas where safety can be improved
  • Communicates with load and unload areas, hauls materials safely to designated areas and maintains safe speed and observes all plant traffic controls
  • Operate a front-end loader to efficiently and accurately load customer trucks and maintain stockpiles when needed, day or night.
  • Maintain an effective system of communications with supervisors and customers serviced
  • Work as ground man and assist on maintenance when not operating the front-end loader
  • Conduct winter maintenance of the asphalt plant during winter season
  • Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned
About You
  • Prompt, regular, and predictable attendance
  • Positive, Team-based attitude
  • The ability to stand, stoop, bend, lift, walk, climb stairs, ladders and catwalks up to 60 feet as required.
  • The ability to work in varied outdoor environments (cold, hot, dry, dusty, rainy)
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1 to 2 years of experience working on heavy mobile equipment in a mining environment – preferred
Compensation

$22.64-$26.52

Working Conditions

While most equipment has air conditioning, there will be times when other responsibilities may require periods of work in all weather conditions including heat, cold, wet, dry, and dusty. Ability to stand squat, kneel and lift up to 80lbs.
