Job Summary: The loader is responsible for efficiently handling the loading of materials onto flatbed trailers, ensuring accuracy and safety compliance. The loader will stage materials properly by following safe stacking guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read work orders to accurately load materials averaging 20-25ft long onto flatbed trailers.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Load and unload materials from pallets, racks, trailers, and shelves by hand or forklift.
• Install bracing or dunnage to prevent shifting or damage to materials during transit using hand tools.
• Move materials to designated areas using forklifts or overhead cranes.
• Collaborate with team members and other departments for effective communication and coordination.
• Adhere to safety protocols during loading and unloading.
• Report issues or concerns to the supervisor.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience handling long materials (30-45ft) with a forklift.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and quality work.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
• Ability to read work orders and follow oral instructions.

Physical Requirements:

• Lift and move up to 50 lbs.
• Stand, bend, twist, and reach for extended periods.
• Work in noisy environments and wear PPE as required.
