Job summary

UNFI, the largest distributor of conventional, natural, organic and specialty products in the United States and Canada, is seeking a Warehouse Associate to support our distribution team.

You will verify products, load pallets, operate pallet jacks or forklifts, and help move items safely and efficiently.

This on-site role requires the ability to lift up to 90 pounds, read labels, and work in a fast-paced environment with accuracy.

Qualifications

• Experience in shipping, receiving, or stock clerk roles is desirable.
• Must be able to lift cases up to 90 pounds.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Counts, sorts and verifies product descriptions and store numbers of items being loaded.
• Examines pallets to ensure they are shrink wrapped correctly.
• Stores product in bins, on floor or on shelves, according to identifying information.
• Reports adjustments to inventory counts, spoilage or damage to stock, location changes, and out of stocks.
• Transports product throughout warehouse via electric pallet jack and/or forklift.
• Maintains loading performance standards of speed and accuracy with minimal damage and maximum safety.
• Assists other department personnel during peak workloads or absences.

Job Overview

Verify correct product and loaded pallets in stop sequence, combining pallets by decking and hand stacking.

Job Responsibilities And Accountabilities

• Counts, sorts and verifies product descriptions and store numbers of items being loaded.
• Examines pallets to ensure they are shrink wrapped correctly.
• Stores product in bins, on floor or on shelves, according to identifying information.
• Reports adjustments to inventory counts, spoilage or damage to stock, location changes, and out of stocks.
• Transports product throughout warehouse via electric pallet jack and/or forklift.
• Maintains loading performance standards of speed and accuracy with minimum damage and maximum safety, while being mindful of weight distribution on the trailer.
• Assists other department personnel in the performance of work activities when peak workloads require or during absences of division personnel.

Job Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age due to equipment operation.
• Prior experience as a shipping, receiving, or stock clerk is highly desirable.
• Must be able to lift cases of various weight and sizes up to 90 pounds.
• Must be able to read labels and make decisions on properly stacking and loading product into trucks.
• Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available

Compensation

UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements.
