Job summary

UNFI is hiring for a FLEX Order Selection role at a distribution center in Richburg, SC. The associate will pull customer orders, palletize, and move products using electric pallet jacks and forklifts, ensuring accurate placement in locations while maintaining safety protocols.

The role is onsite with weekend premiums and a Sunday shift; prior shipping/receiving experience and the ability to lift up to 90 pounds are desirable.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age due to equipment operation.
• Able to lift cases up to 90 pounds.
• Prior shipping/receiving/stock clerk experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Counts, sorts and verifies product descriptions and store numbers of items being loaded.
• Examines pallets to ensure proper shrink wrap.
• Stores product in bins, on floor or on shelves according to identifying information.
• Reports adjustments to inventory counts, spoilage or damage to stock, location changes, and out of stocks.
• Transports product throughout the warehouse via electric pallet jack and/or forklift.
• Maintains loading performance standards for speed and accuracy with safety as a priority.

What does it mean to be a part of the FLEX Order Selection team?

In this fast-paced role, you are the boots on the ground and responsible for accurately and efficiently pulling customer orders within the warehouse. This role requires strategic thinking and attention to detail while palletizing orders and ensuring they are placed in the correct assigned locations. You will operate motorized equipment including Electric Pallet Jacks while ensuring that you safely and accurately move product within the warehouse. Incentives & Schedule

• $2.00/hr for Weekends
• $2.00/hr for Freezer environment (if applicable)
• Three days a week, Sunday mandatory.

Job Responsibilities

• Counts, sorts and verifies product descriptions and store numbers of items being loaded.
• Examines pallets to ensure they are shrink wrapped correctly.
• Stores product in bins, on floor or on shelves, according to identifying information.
• Reports adjustments to inventory counts, spoilage or damage to stock, location changes, and out of stocks.
• Transports product throughout warehouse via electric pallet jack and/or forklift.
• Maintains loading performance standards of speed and accuracy with minimum damage and maximum safety, while being mindful of weight distribution on the trailer.
• Assists other department personnel in the performance of work activities when peak workloads require or during absences of division personnel.

Job Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age due to equipment operation.
• Prior experience as a shipping, receiving, or stock clerk is highly desirable.
• Must be able to lift cases of various weight and sizes up to 90 pounds.
• Must be able to read labels and make decisions on properly stacking and loading product into trucks.
• Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available

Work Environment

• Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Perishable Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Grocery Operation
• Ability to do repetitive arm, wrist, and hand movements required.
• Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.
• Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties. Ability to operate work-related equipment.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Onsite Role: This position requires the associate to perform all duties at one of our UNFI locations, such as a distribution center or office.

UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements.
