Job Overview

PARR, a family‑owned homebuilding supplies company, is seeking a Load Builder to safely and efficiently build loads for delivery drivers.

Pay: $21.02 – $23.27 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Build safe and efficient loads of building materials by correctly reading pick tickets and invoices.
  • Read SKUs and identify material types to accurately build loads.
  • Load and off‑load company trucks with building materials both by hand and with a forklift.
  • Complete inventory adjustments and put stock away.
  • Tag loads and receive delivered inventory by inspecting paperwork for accuracy and depositing inventory in designated locations.
  • Open and close the yard as needed, keeping the area clean and forklift operation safe.
  • Maintain yard cleanliness during the course of work.
  • Share product substitution knowledge and apply it to building loads.
  • Cross‑train as backup driver, receiver, counter sales, and dispatcher when needed.
  • Proactively learn products and applications for end users and attend product knowledge meetings.
  • Understand weight limits and length limits for the company's fleet of trucks to safely and lawfully load trucks.
  • Wear proper high‑visibility and safety gear; operate equipment safely, honking bells, and checking surroundings before backing or rounding blind corners.
  • Perform daily safety audits of forklift and report any malfunctioning equipment.
  • Participate in the safety committee when necessary.
  • Review and complete Hold Harmless forms with customers.
Qualifications
  • OSHA Certified Forklift License.
  • Knowledge of receiving/inventory control principles, practices, and protocols.
  • Knowledge of dimension lumber, panel products, and other building materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret pick tickets and invoices.
  • Strong concentration and attention to detail in a busy work environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to grasp, talk, hear, and operate a computer and keyboard.
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds and carry objects up to 50 feet.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Local and overnight travel may be required.
  • Ability to cover different shifts when necessary.
