Overview
PARR is a homebuilding supplies provider. This role supports on-time delivery of orders, maintains safety and customer service standards, and reports to the General Manager.
Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load and unload building materials from a commercial motor vehicle.
- Travel legally, safely, and efficiently to destinations via public and private roads.
- Complete mileage and fuel usage reports.
- Demonstrate commitment to on-time and in-full deliveries.
- Learn and use route planning and optimization; follow delivery procedures with post-delivery photo documentation.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of all equipment; report any malfunctions as required by regulations and policy.
- Maintain professional relationships with customers, contractors, and vendors.
- Fulfill safety audits (daily vehicle safety audits, weekly brake inspections) and report issues promptly.
- Annually update driver qualification file as required by law and policy.
- Keep the truck organized, clean, and stocked; manage downtime productively.
- Verify load accuracy and ensure necessary paperwork is provided for dispatch.
- Learn products and their applications for end users.
- Understand tie-down rules, weight/height/length limits, and ensure material is invoiced or accompanied by a Returns Form.
- Operate a truck-mounted forklift to load, unload, and place materials at customer locations and job sites (where applicable).
- Assess job-site conditions and maintain safety around unloading zones.
Qualifications
- Class B CDL or higher; must be 21 years old or over.
- Current DOT Medical Card; acceptable driving record.
- Ability to speak, write, and read English; knowledge of safety audits and equipment reports as required by law and policy.
- Ability to manage time and routes for efficient delivery; open and transparent communication.
- Familiarity with GPS devices or map applications; driving experience within a 50-mile radius of the primary location preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 90 lbs.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions; ability to sit for extended periods; ability to stoop, bend, and walk.
Safety and Work Environment
This is a safety-sensitive role. Drivers work at a lumber yard and deliver to job sites in all weather conditions.
Benefits and Compensation
Pay: $24.38–$26.63 hourly. Benefits include vacation time, paid holidays, health and dental plans, retirement plan with employer contributions, and opportunities for advancement through merit increases and internal promotions.
