Role Overview

LOA Hourly – Simulation and Lab Technician: Supports operations of the skills lab and simulation education for the School of Nursing to ensure users receive a quality educational experience.

Core Responsibilities

• Assist the Skills and Simulation Coordinator in supporting lab operations for all nursing lab activities and external users.
• Coordinate and organize all supplies needed for teaching and exam sessions.
• Set up and break down physical assessment and skills labs.
• Help maintain inventory and par levels for disposable and non‑disposable supplies.
• Pre‑set and stock all lab and simulation areas.
• Operate and maintain skills lab equipment (manikins, task trainers, beds, and other medical equipment).
• Assist the Director, Lab Coordinator, and other technicians to coordinate, prepare, and maintain schedules, equipment, and required resources for all exam and teaching sessions.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and facilitate repair and maintenance of laboratory equipment when needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with two years of experience in a healthcare skills or simulation lab environment, OR a combination of equivalent work experience and education (associate’s degree + 4 years experience, or high school diploma + 6 years experience).
• Proficiency in network technology.
• Proficiency working with audio/visual equipment and computers (hardware, software, and basic applications).
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi‑task effectively.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS).
• Experience with data tracking and continuous quality improvement.
• Experience with healthcare education lab operations and managing budgets.

Work Hours

Variable during normal hours of operation Monday–Saturday, 8:00am–10:00pm (dependent on programmatic needs).

Hourly Rate

$25.50 per hour.
