Job summary

Honeywell LNG is seeking a Process Controls Engineer II to design, test, and validate control systems for liquefaction projects. You will contribute to P&ID creation, control narratives, and robust logic development while supporting customers through startup and aftersales phases.

The role requires collaboration with multiple engineering teams, occasional travel, and delivering safe, reliable plant operation through advanced control strategies and rigorous testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as engineering or science.
• 2+ years of experience as a Process or Process Controls Engineer, ideally in energy/oil & gas.
• 2+ years of proficiency in preparing controls narratives and logic diagrams.
• 2+ years of proficiency in reviewing and preparing P&IDs.
• Willingness to travel 10–20% to support customer activities in US and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of the process control system scope for LNG project bids, productized designs, and awarded equipment projects.
• Develop and review P&IDs, control narratives, logic diagrams, alarm philosophies, interlocks, and operating sequences.
• Define control system functional requirements and translate into robust control logic and operator interfaces.
• Design and implement advanced control strategies for LNG processes.
• Analyze process and control data to identify performance gaps and implement improvements.
• Plan and execute control system testing, factory acceptance testing, and integrated system testing.
• Provide onsite startup and commissioning support and training for customers.
• Support aftermarket customers with remote and onsite technical assistance.
• Collaborate with Process Engineering, Safety, Startup teams to ensure safe, reliable operation.
• Develop and maintain internal controls engineering standards and documentation.
