Job summary

NextDecade in Brownsville, TX seeks a Maintenance Specialist, Metering and Analyzer to ensure accurate and reliable gas analytic systems. You will perform metering, sampling and analyzer maintenance, driving safety, quality, and equipment availability across the facility.

The role requires SME expertise in LNG analyzers, gas chromatography, and related instrumentation, with strong collaboration across Electrical, Instrumentation, and Mechanical teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 5+ years of post-qualification experience.
• SME for all metering, analyser and sampling activities.
• Able to interpret P&ID, ISO, GA, and control narratives.
• Experience with testing Safety Critical Elements and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with GOAL setting and performance management.
• Knowledge of CMMS systems (SAP or similar).
• Experience reviewing and redlining maintenance procedures.
• Experience with Integrated Control & Safety Systems (DCS/SIS) and PLCs.
• Extensive experience with gas chromatography and spectroscopy in LNG operations.
• SME with flow computers, custody metering and field instrumentation.
• Knowledge of network protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, OPC, HART).
• TWIC eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proactive safety attitude and best practices.
• Collaborate with Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Plant Services, and Contractors to maintain One-Team approach.
• Review Preventive & Corrective Maintenance Plans for selected equipment.
• Review maintenance docs (WI’s, JSA’s, SWMMs) and redline when needed.
• Conduct metering, analyzer and sampling maintenance for breakdown, corrective and preventive tasks.
• Safely complete planned activities on schedule, maximizing tooltime and minimizing deferrals.
• Advise on materials and parts optimization to stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives.
• Attend HSSE meetings, pre-starts and toolbox talks.
