Job summary

SPL is seeking an experienced LNG Lab Manager to lead the commissioning and startup of a new LNG laboratory operation in Port Arthur, TX. The role requires building a capable team, ensuring laboratory readiness, and establishing processes for safe, accurate, and reliable operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline is required.
• 5+ years of progressive laboratory leadership or management experience.
• Experience commissioning or expanding laboratory operations and quality systems preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of analytical methods and applicable industry standards.
• Proven ability to lead audits, investigations, and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead lab commissioning, startup, and operational readiness, including workflows and quality systems.
• Provide strategic and operational leadership for safe, compliant lab operations.
• Recruit and develop laboratory personnel and build a high-performance culture.
• Manage staffing, equipment, materials, and resources to meet milestones and budgets.
• Oversee throughput, data quality, and service delivery in the lab.
• Establish QA/QC programs and regulatory readiness.
• Develop and implement SOPs and related procedures.
• Lead audits, investigations, and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align with customer needs.
