Job summary

SPL is seeking a Senior Lab Analyst to join our LNG laboratory startup in Port Arthur, TX. The role focuses on commissioning readiness, analytical workflows, instrumentation setup, and transitioning the lab to 24/7 operations.

The candidate will lead technical activities, provide guidance to laboratory staff, and help establish SOPs and quality systems to ensure safe, accurate, and reliable lab performance.

Responsibilities

• Support commissioning and startup activities during laboratory readiness and startup.
• Perform advanced sample preparation, analytical testing, and QC for laboratory operations.
• Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and analytical equipment.
• Review, document, and interpret analytical data in LIMS.
• Identify and resolve analytical issues, including data anomalies and instrument problems.
• Provide technical guidance and training to laboratory personnel on methods and quality requirements.
• Support workload prioritization and daily laboratory operations with leadership.
• Assist with SOP development, analytical workflows, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support QA activities including audits and investigations as required.
• Provide technical support for sample intake, services, and client inquiries.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
