Job Summary:

The LMS Operations & Training Program Lead is responsible for overseeing site-wide training operations, directing training support staff, and serving as the primary system administrator and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the organization's Learning Management System (LMS). This role combines operational leadership, technical system administration, and instructional support to ensure the successful delivery of educational programs that align with organizational objectives, regulatory compliance, and safety standards.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Training Program Leadership & Administration

• Staff Supervision: Direct daily tasks of administrative and training support staff, resolve routine operational issues, and provide mentorship to ensure high-quality support services.
• Program Implementation: Assist in the development, deployment, and evaluation of training programs tailored to meet organizational, regulatory, and site-wide objectives.
• Schedule Coordination: Oversee the scheduling of training classes, maintain comprehensive training calendars, and coordinate logistics for large-scale workforces (e.g., 200+ employees on active industrial or construction sites).
• Content Management: Create, update, and maintain instructional materials, including presentations, reference manuals, and procedural guides.
• Onboarding & Mentorship: Lead the onboarding and training process for new team members to maintain high standards of service and operational efficiency.

2. LMS System Administration & Support

• System Ownership: Act as the primary technical point of contact and SME for the core LMS platform, integrated external training systems, and associated technical support platforms.
• Integration & Upgrades: Lead system integration initiatives for new LMS platforms. Define, prioritize, and document upgrade requirements, identify system gaps, and implement solutions to improve data accuracy and overall system usability.
• User Support: Provide tier-one and tier-two troubleshooting support, resolving system access, functionality, and routine technical issues for end-users and instructors.
• Data Integrity & Reporting: Oversee LMS data entry, validation, and regular data cleanup activities. Define reporting requirements to track compliance, completion rates, and curriculum efficacy.

3. Compliance & Site Safety Integration

• Regulatory Alignment: Ensure training records and programs align with federal, Department of Energy (DOE), or other relevant regulatory oversight standards.
• Safety Training Liaison: Collaborate with site safety managers to administer training curricula that support safe working conditions, incorporating relevant certifications (e.g., BCSP safety requirements) where applicable.

Requirements and Education

• Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in training operations, training coordination, or instructional support roles.
• Minimum 2 years of direct experience administering, configuring, or supporting a modern Learning Management System (LMS).
• Proven experience coordinating high-volume training schedules and logistics in complex, industrial, construction, or highly regulated environments.
• Demonstrated experience leading or supervising administrative staff and acting as a primary liaison between system developers and business users.
• Associate degree in Education, Human Resources, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a closely related field, combined with equivalent professional experience.
• An equivalent combination of high school education/GED and 6+ years of direct, specialized training and LMS coordination experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree.

Preferred Requirements and Education

• Direct experience working within Department of Energy (DOE) contractor frameworks or similar federal agency settings.
• Hands-on experience executing a major LMS system migration or software integration.
• Bachelor’s degree (completed or actively in progress) in Human Resource Development, Education, or a related field.

• LMS Architecture & Design: Strong understanding of LMS functionalities, system configuration, reporting tools, and database maintenance.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and data validation procedures.
• Instructional Support: Ability to deliver instructional courses and train users on system utilization and software applications.
• Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; proven ability to manage client relationships and mentor team members.
• Organization & Detail Orientation: Exceptional capability to prioritize multi-faceted administrative tasks, schedule high-volume events, and maintain meticulous compliance documentation.

• DOE National Training Center (NTC) MIT-111 (Basic Instructor Course) or equivalent federal instructor training.
• Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) Safety Trained Supervisor Construction (STSC) or general safety credential.
• Recognized leadership or professional development certifications (e.g., Dale Carnegie Leadership Course).
