Job Description: Radiology Tech/Medical Assistant - BHMG Urgent Care Richmond

Sign-on bonus is reserved for new hires meeting eligibility criteria

Position: PRN

Qualifications: Rad Tech or LMR, experience as a Medical Assistant preferred, but training will be provided.

The Radiology Tech/Medical Assistant assists staff and physicians by collecting pertinent patient information to determine physical and psychological needs, addressing and identifying health problems. Performs radiographic exams with general equipment. Functions as a member of the healthcare team with responsibilities based on training and demonstrated competencies.

Responsibilities include:

1. Communicating effectively with patients to assess changes in health status since last visit, including medications, and recording in EMR.
2. Performing radiographic exams as required.
3. Maintaining efficient patient flow through exam and treatment areas.
4. Assisting physicians, ARNPs, and nurses with patient care, exams, tests, and procedures.
5. Obtaining and recording vital signs accurately, reporting abnormal readings.
6. Performing clerical duties such as assembling patient education materials, assisting with nutrition and toileting, scheduling, and obtaining insurance authorizations.

Minimum Education, Training, and Experience:

• Basic Medical Assistant experience or training
• Rad Tech license or LMR
• BLS certification
• Medical Assistant training (preferred)
• Active AART and KBMIRT certifications
• New graduates encouraged to apply
