Job summary

Ellie Mental Health – Birmingham clinic is seeking a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist with LMFT-S designation to supervise clinicians working toward full licensure while delivering high-quality therapy. The role emphasizes flexible, collaborative, and clinician-focused culture in a busy Birmingham setting.

The ideal candidate will have Alabama LMFT-S credentials, 5+ years of clinical experience, strong documentation skills, and the ability to coordinate with families and medical teams.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field
• Active Alabama LMFT license with approved supervisor designation (LMFT-S)
• 5+ years of clinical therapy experience preferred
• Completed supervisor training and eligible to provide clinical supervision in Alabama
• Experience with diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, and clinical documentation
• Strong communication skills and ability to maintain professional boundaries
• Experience working with diverse client populations

Responsibilities

• Complete diagnostic assessments, treatment plans, and clinical documentation
• Provide high-quality, client-centered therapy
• Supervise pre-licensed counselors pursuing full LMFT licensure
• Maintain a minimum of 27 service hours per week, including supervision
• Develop creative interventions based on client needs and goals
• Coordinate care with families, case managers, medical providers, and other professionals
• Participate in clinical meetings, supervision, and training
• Support clinic operations and contribute to a positive team culture
