The Research Facilities Specialist provides technical and operational support for the maintenance and upkeep of the Louisiana Light Source (LLS), formerly the Center for Advanced Microstructures and Devices (CAMD), at LSU. Reporting to and working under the overall direction of the Facility Manager, the position performs routine facility and equipment maintenance, assists with the installation of scientific equipment, and supports cryogenic and other specialized facility operations. The position helps ensure that LLS facilities, equipment, and building systems are maintained safely and effectively in support of the facility’s research activities.
Bachelor's Degree and 1 year of related experience. LSU values skills, experience, and expertise. Candidates who have relevant experience in key job responsibilities are encouraged to apply—a degree is not required as long as the candidate meets the required years of experience specified in the job description.
Experience with mechanical systems, equipment maintenance and repair, vacuum systems, water chillers, electrical or control systems, or other related technical equipment. Experience working in a research, laboratory, industrial, or technical facility environment.
