Bar Attendants prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and small pre-packaged snacks to customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare, serve, and sell beverages including wine, beer, non-alcoholic drinks, and prepackaged snacks.
• Verify customers' legal drinking age by checking IDs.
• Take customer orders in a friendly and timely manner.
• Utilize a Point of Sale (POS) system for transactions.
• Handle transactions using cash, credit, and debit cards.
• Comply with all applicable food and beverage regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of all bar surfaces and areas.
• Properly clean, sanitize, and air dry glassware.
• Provide excellent customer service, evaluate customer satisfaction, and adjust service as needed.
• Use proper judgment to refuse service to intoxicated or disruptive patrons.
• Stock the bar throughout the shift and ensure it is fully stocked at shift end.
• Manage the cash drawer, including balancing at shift start and end, and secure cash in the safe.
• Interact professionally with others and handle intense or emotionally charged situations.
• Read and understand safety, operating, and maintenance instructions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and short-notice schedule changes.
• Maintain acceptable attendance and punctuality.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements include:

• A minimum of 2 years of related bartending experience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service experience.
• Ability to remain calm with unruly or argumentative patrons.
• Must be of legal drinking age.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

Maintain a current Arizona Title 4 Basic Liquor Law Training Certification.

Physical and Mental Demands

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and more with assistance. Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception. Ability to taste and smell is also required.

Work Environment

Work is usually performed in a loud environment, primarily at the workspace.
