Job summary

H2ajobs in Minnesota is seeking a hard-working livestock handler to perform a variety of cattle-care tasks on our farm. Duties include moving cattle from summer pasture to the feed yard, fall work, pregnancy checking, weaning, feeding, and vaccinating cattle, plus maintaining feed equipment and pens.

Housing and meals are employer-provided, with weekly transportation to town for errands. A driver’s license may be required within 30 days of hire and a post-hire background check will be conducted.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 month of experience required.
• Must be able to obtain driver's license within 30 days of hire.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds.
• Background check post-hire at employer's expense.
• Must speak English.
• Adherence to biosecurity and food safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Move cattle from summer pasture to feed yard.
• Perform fall cattle work incl. pregnancy checking and weaning.
• Feed cattle and vaccinate as directed.
• Maintain feed equipment and feedlot pens; haul manure and bedding.
• Prepare barns and grounds for freezing; clean bunks and check water tanks.
• Snow removal and loading/unloading cattle to/from feedlot.
• Repair fences in summer pastures; drive to town for supplies.
