Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 months of experience.
• Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire.
• Must pass post-hire drug screen at employer's expense.
• Criminal background check required post-hire at employer's expense.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds.
• Must be able to speak English.
• Adherence to biosecurity and food safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Feed and water livestock and monitor food and water supplies.
• Herd livestock to pastures or enclosures and inspect for illness or injury.
• Provide basic medical treatment or arrange vet care as needed.
• Mark livestock to identify ownership (brands, tags, paint, or tattoos).
• Maintain heated watering system and segregate animals by weight, age, and condition.
• Clean stalls, pens, and equipment with disinfectants and tools.
• Move animals between grazing areas to ensure access to food.
• Maintain growth, feeding, production, and cost records.
• Groom or trim animals as needed and drive to town for cattle supplies.
