Job summary

H2ajobs in Alma, Nebraska is seeking a farm laborer to perform hands-on duties with livestock, including feeding, herding, and healthcare support under H-2A guidelines. The role involves equipment operation, animal health checks, and basic maintenance around the farmstead.

The position offers employer-provided housing and meals with a fully equipped kitchen, plus weekly grocery access and transportation reimbursements.

Responsibilities

• Feeding, watering, herding, castrating, branding, weighing, catching, and loading animals.
• Examining animals to detect diseases and injuries.
• Assisting in birthing, administering medications, vaccinations, or insecticides.
• Maintaining winter animal housing areas; using diggers, shovels and other equipment needed.
• Ongoing maintenance includes cleaning, maintaining and repair of equipment and fences, various workshop tasks as well as maintenance of grain bins and general buildings
• Use of various farm and cattle specific equipment.
• Install, maintain and repair electric fences
• Maintaining records, as required by relevant various entities, clients and inhouse management
• Receive and place stocker cattle on corn stalks for grazing.
• Pull cattle off stalks (prior to planting).
• Sell cattle, move cattle with stock trailer.
• Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)
• Meals: Housing provided to the worker has a fully equipped kitchen where the worker can prepare and cook his own meals three times a day. The kitchen is fully functional and equipped with appliances such as stove, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher - all in working condition. The kitchen is equipped with the necessary utensils for prepping and cooking food. Adequate sinks with the warm and cold water under pressure. The employer will ensure that the worker has access to a grocery store at least once a week to purchase own food/produce. The worker has access to a vehicle to drive to the grocery stores from the house to the stores and back.
• Transport: The Employer will, as per H2A regulations, reimburse the worker for travel cost, including daily subsistence rates stipulated at the time, from the worker’s place of residence to the workplace, and upon contract completion, from the workplace back to the worker’s place of residence at no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier transportation charge for the distance involved, for example return bus and or airfare.
