Job summary

Gray Media is seeking a Technical Media Producer to direct live broadcasts, monitor on-air signals, and manage transmitter operations. You will ingest daily programming and commercials into the playout system and direct specific newscasts from the control room.

Ideal candidates bring a passion for television production, familiarity with automation equipment, and strong teamwork in a fast-paced newsroom environment based in Rapid City.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Must be punctual and have reliable transportation, including during inclement weather.
• The desire to learn television broadcast automation equipment (experience is a plus!).
• Experience with computers and Microsoft Windows, with the willingness to learn new and complex technologies.
• The ability to take direction, meet multiple deadlines, multitask, and work under pressure.
• Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Operation of Ross Overdrive Production Automation, Crispin Master Control Automation, and VizRT News Graphics System.
• The operation of robotic cameras, teleprompter, and audio mixer.
• Communicate effectively and efficiently with all members of the team.
• Adapt to breaking news and developing stories.
• Assist in maintaining a clean studio and production area.
• You may have a variable work schedule, depending on station needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
