Job summary

CBS LA in Los Angeles is seeking a Technician (Production Support) to work with editorial staff and field crews in acquiring, routing and operating equipment for live signals. The role includes editing on nonlinear systems and supporting the Production Control Room and Studio.

Duties cover acquiring and routing RF and cellular signals, editing stories quickly and accurately, and providing studio and control room support under deadline pressure. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential.

Responsibilities

• Acquire and route RF and bonded cellular signals under deadline pressure.
• Edit video including Vo, Sots, PKGs; knowledge of Edius and Grass Valley systems is a plus.
• Studio support: assist guests with microphones, run handheld cameras, assist producers with technical needs.
• Safely operate news-gathering equipment from the TOC room.
• Schedule and record live feeds.
• Make sound technical decisions under pressure.
• Provide Studio and Production Control Room support.
