Nexstar Media Group, Inc. is seeking a Production Assistant to support television production for live and recorded broadcasts.

The role includes operating studio and remote cameras, setting up equipment, and collaborating with directors on shot composition and lighting to achieve broadcast goals. The position requires strong communication, technical aptitude with office equipment, and the ability to meet tight deadlines while handling multiple tasks.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Composes and frames camera shots, applying light, lenses and camera settings as directed by the director.
• Adjusts camera positions and controls to change focus, exposure and lighting per director requests.
• Operates studio cameras during live broadcasts.
• Operates remote cameras during live broadcasts.
• Confers with directors and crew on sequences, effects, movements and lighting requirements.
• Sets up cameras and related equipment.
• Tests, cleans, maintains and repairs camera equipment.
• Produces graphics for the newscast.
• Creates graphics for the newscast.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
