Job summary

WTXF Fox 29, a FOX Television Stations affiliate in Philadelphia, seeks an Engineering Technician to support live studio broadcasts, ensuring seamless transmission and maintaining broadcast standards. You will operate production switchers, robotic cameras, audio consoles, and automation systems, troubleshoot live feeds, and coordinate with engineering teams during outages.

Associate’s degree or 2 years of equivalent industry experience.
Proven capability to operate a broad range of live production and master control equipment.
Strong troubleshooting skills under tight, live-broadcast deadlines.

Responsibilities

Live Production: serve in core operational roles including various roles such as Technical Director, Audio Board Operator, Floor Director, Master Control Operator, or Program Prep/Ingest Operator.
Equipment Operation: command production switchers, robotic cameras, audio consoles, and automation systems.
Master Control & Automation: switch on-air programming, transfer media assets, verify segment timing.
Signal Acquisition & Feeds: tune and troubleshoot satellite receivers, microwave systems, and IP-delivered live shots.
Quality Control & Compliance: monitor live signals, ensure quality, and comply with FCC procedures.
Troubleshooting & Reporting: identify issues, resolve live feed problems, and prepare post-transmission reports.
Continuous Improvement: stay updated with emerging broadcast technologies and tools.
