Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking a Live Receiving Worker to rotate within the department, handling live hanging, crates, forklift driving, and backup to the finishing machine. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and adherence to animal welfare policies.

Typical schedule runs Monday–Friday with shifts starting early morning; benefits include medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) options. Candidates should be able to stand all shift and pass required safety tests.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand and use hands for 8–10 hour shifts.
• Strong ability to comprehend basic instructions.
• Effective communication with others.
• Ability to work in changing environment.
• Must pass PFT respirator testing.
• Must pass vision testing if needed.

Responsibilities

• Back-Up Stabber: monitor kill machine and ensure birds are properly killed before scalding.
• Drawer Inserter: place empty drawers from output conveyor into MODs and detect defects.
• Live Hang: deliver birds to the line at 26 birds per minute with proper hanging techniques.
• Flexibility to work in changing environment and adjust to production demands.
• Trains others with the skills and knowledge gained from position.
• Observe safety, quality, and food safety policies; maintain a positive work atmosphere.
• Recognize and act on incidents and safety risks; enforce safe habits.
• Participate in process improvement and problem solving.
• Follow all animal welfare guidelines.
• Other duties as directed.
