Job summary

Perdue Foods is seeking a Live Operations Intern to gain hands-on experience at the center of our live production business. This internship bridges classroom learning with real-world application, offering exposure to production processes, animal husbandry, and technical skills.

You will rotate through hatchery, feed mill, grow-out, breeders and harvest facilities, work Monday–Friday 8:00am–5:00pm, and collaborate with senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work well within a team setting, as well as independently.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to motivate in a team atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Develops an understanding of the Live functions to include production processes, animal husbandry and technical skills.
• Manage a project throughout the summer to improve overall live performance or address a business need relative to location.
• Completion of weekly assessments to demonstrate learned material.
• Rotation includes hatchery, feed mill, grow out, breeders and harvest facilities.
• Will perform legitimate roles and responsibilities as needed in the business unit.
• Will participate in learning events to develop an understanding of the Company, Agri Stats and soft skills training.
• Must have a valid State Driver’s License and be approved to drive a Company vehicle.
