Job summary

Perdue Farms is seeking a Live Operations Intern in Salisbury, MD to gain immersive, hands-on experience in the heart of our live production business. You’ll learn alongside experienced professionals, shadow multiple departments, and actively contribute to daily operations during the summer.

Responsibilities include understanding live functions, managing a summer project, and completing weekly assessments. Rotation covers hatchery, feed mill, grow-out, breeders and harvest facilities, with

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited four-year institution pursuing a bachelor's degree.
• Degree in Poultry Science, Animal Science, Agriculture, Agribusiness Management or Business Administration.
• 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work well within a team setting, as well as independently.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to motivate in a team atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Develops an understanding of the Live functions to include production processes, animal husbandry and technical skills.
• Manage a project throughout the summer to improve overall live performance or address a business need relative to location.
• Completion of weekly assessments to demonstrate learned material.
• Rotation includes hatchery, feed mill, grow out, breeders and harvest facilities.
• Will perform legitimate roles and responsibilities as needed in the business unit.
• Will participate in learning events to develop an understanding of the Company, Agri Stats and soft skills training.
• Must have a valid State Driver’s License and be approved to drive a Company vehicle.
