Job summary

Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Badgerland seeks remarkable summer camp staff to serve as counselors at our resident camp in Mindoro, WI. Earn $450 per week and live onsite with campers during a June 1–August 11, 2027 season.

As a camp staff member, you’ll help girls grow in confidence, learn new skills, and build lasting friendships in a supportive environment, leading activities and ensuring safety throughout the program.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• Experience in teaching, guiding, and working with children is preferred.
• Excited to be outdoors and work with youth.
• Willing to stay in Mindoro, WI for the entire summer and live onsite with campers.
• Certified or able to become Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certified.
• Willing to subscribe to the philosophy of the Girl Scout program.

Responsibilities

• Supervise participation of campers in structured and unstructured activities, plus overnight unit supervision.
• Familiarize yourself with each Girl Scout in the unit to influence respectful behavior.
• Teach skills to help campers live comfortably in the camp setting.
• Lead program activities to educate campers and aid badge completion.
• Maintain highest level of safety during activities.
• Assist in opening and closing procedures including staff training.
• Comprehend and implement emergency procedures through regular drills.
• Create a safe and inclusive environment for campers and staff.
