Job summary

FOX News Channel seeks a Transmission Operator for its Washington, D.C. bureau to support on-air programming and ensure seamless live coverage. The role requires flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will troubleshoot live video and audio feeds, coordinate with control rooms and other teams, read scopes, and adapt quickly to breaking-news production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with satellite and fiber transmission systems.
• Ability to work weekends and overnight shifts.
• Ability to read scopes.
• Strong organizational skills under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot live video and audio feeds to ensure on-air during an evolving breaking-news environment.
• Coordinate with control rooms to prepare in-studio live guests for air.
• Record live news video feeds from around the world with internal departments.
• Partner with the satellite desk, media desk, field crews, and control room staff to support seamless transmission operations.
