Job summary

FOX Television Stations is seeking a News Producer to manage the daily production of newscasts, partnering with the Executive Producer and newsroom staff to craft compelling stories within tight deadlines.

The role oversees the control room, directs field and studio crews, and coordinates with writers and reporters to refine scripts and deliver engaging broadcasts. A bachelor’s degree and newsroom experience are required.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily production of newscasts by compiling and writing stories, logging video, etc., within time constraints.
• Manage the Control Room during assigned newscasts, coordinating with Directors and Production teams to ensure flawless execution.
• Provide direction and instruction to crews in the field and in studio.
• Collaborate with Executive Producer to implement changes prior to air and during newscasts.
• Supervise Writers and assign writing ideas to APs, edit scripts, and provide feedback.
• Work with reporters to develop story scripts and provide feedback on scripts.
• Assign voiceovers and VO-SOTs to Reporters and Anchors.
• Coordinate with on-air staff for story development and support; liaise with field crews for graphics and video.
