Job summary

The NAB Leadership Foundation is seeking a skilled live news director to lead on-air broadcasts in Rochester, MN. You will direct live newscasts, collaborate with the production crew, design graphics, and ensure smooth operations during every segment.

You will establish pacing with the producer and adapt quickly to time constraints and accessibility requirements. Ideal candidates have a background in transmission and television system operations, strong leadership, and the ability to manage

Qualifications

Direct live newscasts and coordinate with production crew.
Knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, switching and TV system ops.
Leadership skills; supervisory experience preferred.
Graphic design experience preferred.
Ability to handle last-minute changes calmly during live broadcasts.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.

Responsibilities

Direct newscast and collaborate with production crew.
Design graphics for newscast.
Along with producer, establish pace of newscasts and sequences of segments according to time requirements and accessibility.
Ensures program runs smoothly during live broadcasts.
Handle last-minute and unexpected changes in a professional, poised manner during live broadcasts. Be able to communicate calmly, quickly and clearly to all involved as needed.
Edit and encode daily episodic promotions and Network promotions.
Maintain adequate studio lighting levels.
Report to work on time and work established schedule/hours.
