Job summary

Standard Bearings seeks a live news director responsible for directing live newscasts and coordinating with the production crew to ensure a smooth broadcast.

You will design graphics for the newscast, set the pace and sequence segments to meet time requirements and accessibility, and manage last-minute changes calmly during air. You will also edit episodic and network promotions and help maintain studio lighting and overall on-air quality.

Responsibilities

• Direct newscast and collaborate with production crew.
• Design graphics for newscast.
• Along with producer, establish pace of newscasts and sequences of segments according to time requirements and accessibility.
• Ensures program runs smoothly during live broadcasts.
• Handle last-minute and unexpected changes in a professional, poised manner during live broadcasts. Be able to communicate calmly, quickly and clearly to all involved as needed.
• Edit and encode daily episodic promotions and Network promotions.
• Maintain studio lighting levels…and more.
