Job summary

NewsNation in New York is seeking an experienced Associate Director to support live and pre-recorded productions from our New York Bureau. This role oversees show timing, rundowns, video cueing, and coordination with Master Control to ensure accurate broadcasts.

You will work closely with Directors, Producers, and technical teams in a fast-paced news environment, coordinating with teams in New York, Chicago, and Washington, DC to deliver smooth network-wide production execution.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a broadcast control room or similar role.
• Experience timing live broadcasts and managing rundown elements.
• Familiarity with newsroom computer systems such as iNews or ENPS.
• Experience with automated production and video playout systems preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Director to execute live and pre-recorded broadcasts.
• Maintain accurate show timing and track all production elements.
• Manage video, graphics, and other assets within newsroom and playout systems.
• Cue and roll video elements using Bit Central and other systems.
• Coordinate with Master Control regarding commercial breaks and timing changes.
• Work with Producers and control room staff to ensure shows stay on schedule.
• Support breaking news coverage by adapting to evolving editorial needs.
• Collaborate with teams in New York, Chicago, and Washington, DC for network-wide execution.
