Job summary

Connections Academy seeks a LiveLesson Attendance Coordinator in Maine to identify students with attendance gaps and provide targeted interventions. You will partner with families, teachers, and counselors to develop individualized plans and monitor progress in a virtual learning environment.

The role emphasizes proactive outreach, data-driven supports, and collaboration with school staff to maintain consistent engagement and academic progress for at‑risk students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, particularly in education, counseling, social work, psychology, youth development, or a related field.
• Experience working with middle and/or high school students with attendance/engagement challenges.
• Experience working with at‑risk youth or providing student interventions is strongly preferred.
• Strong commitment to helping students overcome barriers and remain engaged in their education.
• Student-focused, relationship-centered approach.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable initiating frequent outreach to students and families.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify individualized solutions to barriers.
• Strong organizational, project management, and follow-through skills.
• Ability to work remotely as necessary.
• Willingness to travel within Maine occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Monitor LiveLesson attendance and academic data to identify students with low or declining attendance.
• Conduct proactive outreach with students and families to identify barriers and develop targeted strategies.
• Provide attendance interventions, including reminders, goal setting, and follow-up.
• Build positive relationships with students and families while maintaining clear expectations.
• Track contacts, barriers, interventions, and outcomes; adjust supports as needed.
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and school staff to coordinate supports.
• Participate in MTSS/RTI, grade-level meetings, and family meetings as appropriate.
• Offer alternative engagement plans when live attendance isn’t possible.
• Monitor progress and maintain reports and student lists for leadership teams.
• Support schoolwide strategies to improve attendance and engagement.
