Job summary

Milton Hershey School seeks married couples to serve as full-time Flex Houseparents, living on campus in student homes and guiding 8–13 students. The role blends supervision, mentorship, and program planning to foster academic, emotional, and social growth in a structured, family-like setting.

The position requires two years of marriage minimum, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to drive school vans. On-site housing, meals, and comprehensive benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples married at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Comfort leading daily devotions and attending Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel (proselytizing prohibited).
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty.
• Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship
• Managing household routines and student schedules
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental/recreational activities
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting
