Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA seeks dedicated married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. The role places couples in on-campus student homes, guiding and supervising a group of 8–13 students to support academic, emotional, and social growth.

Responsibilities include supervision, daily routines, wellness checks, transportation to activities, devotions, chapel, and budgeting. After nine-on/two-off cycles, roles may transition to placed houseparents within a student home.

Qualifications

• Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Experience working or volunteering with youth.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
