Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) in Hershey, PA is seeking married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples reside in on-campus homes, mentoring 8-13 students and guiding their academic, emotional, and social development.

The role begins with nine days on duty followed by three days off, with progression to a placed houseparent living with the same group. Responsibilities include supervision, scheduling, medication administration, transport to activities, devotions, and budgeting.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• Valid U.S. drivers license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship to students.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and monitor student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and participate in development and recreation.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
