Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) is hiring married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents on campus in Hershey, PA. Couples live in on-campus home environments and guide 8–13 students, balancing supervision, routines, devotions, and social development.

The role starts with nine days on duty then three off, with progression to a placed houseparent. Benefits include medical/dental/vision, retirement, and paid training.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples married at least two years.
• Both spouses must be 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Campus is smoke-free and weapon-free; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student vans.
• Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Chapel services.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; staff serve as role models.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental/recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
