Community Interface Services is seeking a compassionate Live-In Roommate/Direct Support Professional to support an adult with a developmental disability as they begin living independently in Oceanside, CA. You’ll share housing, guide daily living, and help build confidence and community connections.

The role offers a flexible daytime schedule to pursue personal commitments and paid support hours during evenings, overnights, mornings, and weekends, with starting pay of $20–$21/hour for daytime

Qualifications

• Passion for supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries while providing compassionate support.
• Reliable, dependable, and accountable.
• Valid California driver’s license with current auto insurance.
• Minimum of 2 years driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with budgeting, financial tracking, and monthly spending.
• Grocery shopping and meals prepared together.
• Support household organization and maintaining a clean living environment.
• Encourage participation in community activities, hobbies, and personal interests.
• Help create a home reflecting the individual’s preferences and needs.
• Support relationship-building with neighbors and community members.

Community Interface Services is seeking a compassionate, dependable Live-In Roommate / Direct Support Professional to support an adult with an intellectual or developmental disability as they take the exciting step of living independently for the first time.

In this unique opportunity, you’ll share an apartment in Oceanside or surrounding areas, split housing costs, and provide guidance and support that helps someone build confidence, independence, and community connections.

Position Highlights

• Live-in roommate opportunity in Oceanside or surrounding area
• Support an individual transitioning to independent living
• Flexible daytime schedule to pursue your own work, school, or personal commitments
• Paid support hours during evenings, overnight, mornings, and weekends

Schedule

During the day, you are free to work, attend school, or pursue personal activities. Paid support hours are typically provided during:

• Evenings
• Overnight sleeping shifts
• Mornings
• Weekends

Additional daytime support opportunities may be available.

Starting Pay

• $20-21/hour for daytime support hours
• Minimum wage for overnight sleeping support hours

What You’ll Do

As a Live-In Roommate, you will support an individual in developing daily living skills and successfully managing their home and community life. Responsibilities include:
