Andrews Osborne Academy in Willoughby, Ohio, seeks Residential Educators to live on campus and mentor boarding students within the Residential Life program.

The role emphasizes leadership, safety, and community, combining educational programming, mentorship, and residential supervision. Responsibilities include weekly meetings, documenting learning experiences, and collaboration with staff to foster belonging and growth.

Qualifications

• Experience working with adolescents in education, youth development, student life, residential life, counseling, coaching, or related settings.
• Strong judgment, reliability, interpersonal skills, and communication skills.
• Ability to build trust with students while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Willingness to live on campus and fulfill evening/overnight/weekend duties.

Responsibilities

• Lead or co-lead weekly house meetings aligned with Residential Curriculum and student needs.
• Plan, lead, and document residential learning experiences aligned with life skills and wellbeing.
• Build relationships with boarding students and provide mentorship.
• Help students develop independence, accountability, and positive habits.
• Partner with proctors and staff to build house culture and student belonging.
• Participate in boarding and school events to support the student experience.
• Maintain a visible adult presence in residence during duty periods.
• Share day-to-day residence operations with a co-Residential Educator.
• Fulfill evening, overnight, weekend, and break responsibilities as scheduled.
• Monitor attendance and student movement through academy systems.
• Conduct wake-up rolls, study halls, curfews, and room inspections as required.
• Administer and document student medications as trained.
• Respond to student concerns and escalate to leadership as needed.
• Support student travel, arrivals, and departures within the boarding program.
• Help maintain a clean, welcoming residence aligned with Academy expectations.
