Job summary

Florida Gulf Coast University is seeking a Resident Director to live on campus and lead housing operations for a designated area. The role oversees staff training, program delivery, safety, and policy enforcement while promoting student development and a supportive living-learning environment.

You will supervise Resident Assistants and desks, coordinate programs, respond to emergencies, manage budgets, collaborate with Facilities, and participate in on-call rotations to ensure resident welfare

Qualifications

• Five years of related full-time experience or, as an alternative, a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of full-time experience directly related to the job functions.
• Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Establishes a community environment within the assigned residence hall to promote and enhance students’ educational, social and personal development.
• Supervises and develops a team of Resident Assistants and Residence Life Team Assistants, depending on the area.
• Participates in recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating Resident Assistants and full-time staff members.
• Implements the residential curriculum and designs programs to promote student development and academic success.
• Addresses facilities issues and coordinates with Facilities to address safety concerns.
