Job summary

The Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy® (IMSA) is seeking a Resident Counselor to provide support for gifted students within a vibrant residence hall community. This full-time live-in position requires regular evening and weekend hours, aimed at promoting academic, emotional, and social growth among our residents.

Responsibilities include monitoring student needs, facilitating educational programming, and acting as a key point of contact for parents and staff. Compensation includes a starting salary of $31,762.58, furnished housing, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Driver’s license required.
  • Experience in residence life strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor academic, emotional, and developmental needs of 24 residents.
  • Implement educational and social programs based on Residence Life curriculum.
  • Communicate student issues with staff and parents.
  • Transport students in State-owned vehicles as needed.
