Job summary

Herkimer County Community College invites applications for an Area Coordinator for Residence Life and Residential Programming. This 12 month live-in role reports to the Director of Residence Life and focuses on creating a sense of belonging, overseeing RA staff, and coordinating housing operations.

The position requires an associate’s degree (bachelor’s preferred) and availability during evenings/weekends, with a valid driver’s license and Microsoft Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience in College Residence Halls and/or Student Activities preferred.
• Associate’s degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge; proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Publisher).
• Able to work evenings and some weekends as required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Live-in position; on-campus apartment provided.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate a sense of belonging and healthy residential living.
• Supervise and evaluate RA staff; coordinate housing events.
• Maintain office hours; participate in on-call duty and rounds.
• Coordinate recruitment, selection and training of RA staff.
• Assist with housing assignments and safety inspections.
• Work with Maintenance and Counseling to address community needs.
• Assist admissions and oversee housing tours.
