Job summary

North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro seeks a Residence Hall Director (RHD) to oversee daily operations of on‑campus housing, supervise five to twelve resident assistants, and foster a diverse, engaging living‑learning environment that supports student success.

This full‑time, live‑in, exempt position requires rotating on‑call duties, crisis response, and collaboration with Housing & Residence Life staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience working with college students.
• Experience supervising, training, mentoring, or advising student leaders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to respond effectively to crisis situations.
• Ability to manage a variety of projects and responsibilities.
• Experience in diverse populations.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to work a varied schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of residence halls and supervise staff.
• Develop community and engagement programming.
• Advise student councils and enforce policies.
• Coordinate hall programming and on-call duties.
• Respond to emergencies and provide student support.
