Job summary

Rhode Island School of Design seeks an Assistant Director for Housing Operations to oversee occupancy, room changes, HMS/Workday data, and move-in/out activities for roughly 1,460 residents. This 12-month, live-in role partners with the Associate Director and Director of Residence Life to ensure safe, inclusive housing operations.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and 2+ years in higher education housing, with strong supervision and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination
• Minimum 2 years of higher education experience, preferably in housing operations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Manage housing assignments and occupancy planning for academic year and special groups
• Oversee move-in/move-out processes and occupancy changes in HMS
• Train and supervise housing operations staff and student workers
• Coordinate Pre-College housing assignments, billing, and data entry in HMS/Workday
• Ensure compliance with safety, access management, and emergency procedures
