Job summary

Milton Hershey School is seeking married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, supervising a group of 8–13 students and fostering a structured, family-like environment that supports academic, emotional, and social growth.

Initial duties involve nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with a path to aPlaced Houseparent role living with the same students. Benefits include salary per person and comprehensive coverage.

Qualifications

• Experience working with youth or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role; couples married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student vans.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship to students.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and monitor student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and engage in developmentally appropriate activities.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
